1. Can I do a triathlon?
With some training and time, anyone can try a triathlon. In order to participate in a sprint distance you need to be able to swim 750m continuously for 30 minutes, cycle 20km in 60 minutes and run 5km in 40 minutes.
Another way to participate in a triathlon race is as a team member (relay). A team consists the participation of 2 to 3 people. When you participate a triathlon race as a team, the swimming,biking,running is split between the team members.
2. What's the typical distances?
Sprint: 750m swimming, 20km cycling, 5km running
olympic: 1,5km swimming, 40km cycling, 10km running
half ironman: 1,9km swimming, 90km cycling, 21km running
3. What equipment do I need?
swim leg: swimsuit and goggles (swim caps are provided by the organiser)
bike leg: bike and helmet
run leg: running shoes
Additionally if the water is below 23 Celsius you can use a wetsuit, which gives you an advantage in floating.

5. What time do I need to arrive on the race day?
You will need to arrive 2 to 3 hours before the start of the race in order for you to pick up your race packet and prepare yourself.
The transition zone where you leave your equipment closes one hour before the start of the race.
